About the Company
Cheddar’s Café was once a dream of the energetic, career-driven and youthful Aubrey Good and Doug Rogers. They thought of establishing a neighborhood café in Arlington, Texas that offers fresh from the farm food to guarantee freshness and quality. Good and Rogers decided to open their first restaurant in 1979 in the said Texan town.
What Cheddar’s had always been so proud of was their menu because most of them were home-made favorites. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible if not for their talented and dedicated team members who provided the corner stone for the success of the restaurant chain through the years.
From 1979 to 1995, Cheddar’s only had 10 locations; all of which were company-owned. The chain expanded into having 45 restaurants all in all in 2003 when Brazos Private Equity Partners invested in the company. By that year, the café would have been operating in 13 different US states. And in 2006, Oak Investment Partners and Catterton Partners joined forces to help them grow even more.
As a result, today, Cheddar’s Café is operating in 23 states with over 135 locations; a combination of company-owned and franchise stores. They have also expanded on their team as they now offer various positions to interested individuals. For example, in the team member category alone, there are 8 positions available that will be discussed later on in this article.
