Cold Stone Creamery Application Online – Job Employment Form

I love ice cream. There, I said it. Who doesn’t love ice cream though, I mean, it’s the universal dessert! So many flavors, so many options. There’s truly something for everyone. There are as many types of ice cream shops nowadays as there are flavors and all of them seek to do things just a little different.

Then along comes Cold Stone Creamery with their specialized type of ice cream. What’s so special about it? Well, it’s described by the company as a “smooth and creamy super-premium ice cream.” I think we could kill two birds with one stone here, why don’t we stop in and try some of this super-premium dessert and while we’re there we can ask about the Cold Stone Creamery application.

See what I did there? In all seriousness though, Cold Stone Creamery employs top notch people with great personalities and some of the most awesome ice cream mixing skills I’ve ever seen. One of the major draws to working there is learning how they apply toppings as “mix-ins” where they manage to mold the ice cream around your chosen add-ons. We’ll go into more detail in a moment, but just remember ice cream ninjas and you’ll be fine.

Company Overview and History

It all began a year before I was born. In 1988, Cold Stone Creamery was founded by Susan and Donald Sutherland who as far as I know have no relation to Kiefer Sutherland of television fame, but if he is their son, these people are Gods amongst men for creating an action hero and a chain of ice cream shops all in one lifetime!

Back on topic, the dynamic duo wanted to create ice creams that was neither hard-packed, nor soft-serve. They wanted the Bigfoot of ice creams, the missing link as it were. They opened their first store in Tempe, Arizona where it is still in operation today. Of course it is though, ice cream is an invincible business model.

As mentioned earlier, Cold Stone Creamery’s major pull over other competitors is their “mix-ins”. The concept here is to incorporate your chosen toppings into the ice cream through a process of using frozen granite stone and magic unknown to the world of men. Not so sure about the second part, but these people are absolute masters of their craft.

Currently, the company has almost 1,400 franchises and is the sixth best selling brand of ice cream in the US. There are also stores abroad in fancy places like Singapore, Qatar, Nigeria, and Canada. See what I mean, everyone loves ice cream. And now, the best reason for working here.

Cold Stone Creamery has this policy where the employees are instructed to sing specialized lyrics about ice cream to the tune of famous songs every time a tip is placed in their jar. Not only does it encourage people to give tips, but it gives you an excuse to sing while you make ice cream. Throw in a rainbow and I think this place could be heaven.

Maybe ice cream isn’t your thing, maybe you’re a communist. A joke of course, but if you would rather work around smoothies, frozen yogurt, or you’re just looking to expand your horizons beyond the iron curtain (zing!) check out Smoothie King for a different take on mixology. A healthier alternative is frozen yogurt, which you can serve working with Yogurtland.  Want to feel like royalty and make it rain hurricanes? Apply to Dairy Queen and let the inner queen shine.

How to Apply

I love this, on the company’s job page, the headline reads “You mean I get paid to do this?” My thoughts exactly. There is a great pep talk on the main page, leading to a link where you can find a local store and begin the process of applying. I’m just going to check this out, make sure it works and what not. Oh wow, the store down the street is hiring. Give me a second, I’ll be right back.

Okay so the Cold Stone Creamery employment form process is real simple, not that I would know. Once you’ve found the store you want to seek employment at, you simply need to scroll down the page and look at the information. There are several red buttons here, one of which says “Apply for a Job”. You click that, and it takes you to the employment form online. It is divided into several sections which I’ve outlined below:

1. Personal Information

These are the classics, asking about your name, address, who is your daddy and what does he do, the usual suspects. Points to the ones who got that reference in the third question, that one isn’t on there. This aspect of the employment form for Cold Stone Creamery is very simple, no trick questions just some personal and contact information to get the ball rolling. They will also ask you how old you are, keep in mind that  the minimum age is 16.

2. Hours Available

Trick question coming right up! When it comes to your availability, be honest but keep something in mind: candidates with open schedules who can work at any time of the day are going to be recognized and considered instantly. If you have classes, or obligations, that’s one thing, but don’t say you’re only available nights because you like sleeping in.

Cold Stone Creamery hours are 12:00pm-10:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 12:00pm-11:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Well, I guess you could sleep in, also my plans to have ice cream for breakfast have just been shattered.

3. Work Experience

This is a better spot to have made that reference about “who is your daddy and what does he do?” The employment form for Cold Stone Creamery gives you three spaces to put in past jobs you’ve worked in. If you’ve had several jobs in the past, be sure to target jobs that are as relevant is possible. If have experience with ice cream, well, put that first. Each section has places to put your job title, start and end date, a job description, and your reason for leaving.

4. Education

This portion of the employment form for Cold Stone Creamery is very simple. You need only put the year, degree, school, and major for any education you have obtained. I don’t know if there’s a major in “Ice Cream Theory” but that should go here if you have that degree.

5. Additional Comments

Think of this like the spot where you can put your cover letter. Cold Stone Creamery just handed you a microphone and a soapbox and asked you why you want to work there. Sell yourself! This is the last part of the application so make yourself sound like the Mother Teresa of ice cream. Talk about your excitement to work with the company, mention some of the information you learned in this article about singing and magical mix-ins, go all out.

Benefits and Salary Information

Where do I even start? Working with Cold Stone Creamery affords you a fun working environment with other people just looking to have a good time and make everyone that comes through the door happy. You get to sing when people give tips. Did I mention you get paid for all of this?

For salaries, crew members will start around minimum wage (making ice cream, just thought I’d remind you) and through raises can earn up to $8.00 an hour. Managers start around $9.00 or $10.00 an hour.
